Samskaping eller parallellskaping. Om tverrprofesjonelt samarbeid i barneskulen

Abstract

«Du har eit tema for oppgåva di som er veldig viktig og aktuelt» sa ein av rektorane eg intervjua under datainnsamlinga mi. Dette gav meg tru på at prosjektet hadde verdi også utanfor helsetenesta som eg sjølv er ein del av. Masteroppgåva er eit forskingsprosjekt der eg har nytta blanda metodar i form av fire kasusstudiar i barneskular med 11 kvalitative forskingsintervju og ei landsdekkande spørjeundersøking for helsesjukepleiarar som grunnlag for empirien. Overordna tema er «Samskaping eller parallellskaping, om tverrprofesjonelt samarbeid i barneskulen», og ut frå det har eg valt problemstillinga «Kva kjenneteiknar det tverrprofesjonelle samarbeidet mellom skule og helsesjukepleiar i barneskulen?» Det har vore ein spanande, krevjande og utviklande prosess. I teoridelen har eg sett på profesjonsomgrepet, rolleforståing samt makt- og profesjonskamp. Vidare kva som er grunnlaget for tverrprofesjonelt samarbeid, kommunikasjon og relasjonskompetanse. Funna er i hovudsak kategorisert kring forskingsspørsmåla. Eg har fått oversikt over kva former for tverrprofesjonelt samarbeid som er aktuelt og korleis dette er forankra og formalisert. Vidare har eg freista å identifisere fremjande og hemmande faktorar for samarbeidet og i kva grad endringar i lovverket har påverka samarbeidet i positiv retning. Det har vore viktig for meg å setje forskinga i konteksten av lovverk, retningsliner og dels i historikken til helsesjukepleiar, helsefremjing, førebygging og tverrfagleg samarbeid. I analysen og drøftinga har eg freista å nytte hermeneutisk og fenomenologisk tilnærming og hatt forskingsspørsmåla som den raude tråden gjennom oppgåva. Kva sit eg så att med? Det skjer mykje positivt i barneskulane rundt om i landet og mange gjer ein god tverrprofesjonell innsats for elevane si helse, trivsel, meistring og tryggleik. Trass dette opplever eg at vi har ein veg å gå før vi kan sei at det er eit godt etablert samarbeid basert på likeverdige, anerkjennande og tillitsbaserte relasjonar mellom helse og skule. Skulehelsetenesta ligg langt unna normtal på landsbasis og vi treng å bygge robuste organisasjonskulturar som kan tilpasse seg samfunnsbehova som stadig er i endring

Summary “You have a very important and relevant topic for your thesis” was a comment made by one the Principles I interviewed during the data collection process. This made me believe that the project also has value outside of the Health sector, which is where I have my background. This Master thesis is a scientific study where I have used mixed methods based on casestudies at primary school level with 11 qualitative interviews and a national questionnaire amongst public health nurses, as the background for the empiric data. The overall topic is “Co-creation or parallel creation, cross-professional cooperation in the primary school” in which I will concentrate on the specific topic “What characterizes the cross-professional cooperation between school and public health nurse at primary school level”. It has been an exciting, demanding and personally rewarding process. In the theoretical part of the thesis, I am looking at the term profession, the understanding of the various roles as well as conflicts between positions and professions. Further, I am looking at what characterizes cross-professional cooperation, communication and interpersonal skills. I have categorized the findings mainly by the scientific questions. I have gained an understanding of what type of cross-professional cooperation is applicable and how this is rooted and formalized. I have further tried to identify the positive and negative factors influencing the cooperation and to what degree the change in the law has influenced this in a positive direction. It has been important to me to see the scientific study in the broader context of the relevant laws and guidelines, but also the history of Public Health nurses, promoting of health, preventive measures and cross-professional cooperation. I have in the analysis and general discussion attempted to use a hermeneutical and phenomenological approach and the scientific questions as the common thread in the thesis. The question is what is the outcome? There is a lot of positive actions happening at primary school level in our country with a good cross-professional effort being made for the benefit of the pupil’s health, wellbeing, mastery and safety. However, it is the experience that there is still a way to go before it can be concluded that there is established a cross-professional cooperation based on recognition of skills and trust in the relationship between the Health Sector and the School Authorities. The Health nurse service is far below the country norm and there is a need to build a robust business culture that can follow and develop with a society that is constantly changing.
