En illusjon om arbeid eller samarbeid? En litteraturstudie om sosionomens relasjonsferdigheter i møte med mennesker som har en autismespekterforstyrrelse

Abstract

Antall mennesker som diagnostiseres med autismespekterforstyrrelser øker i samfunnet. Kompetansegrunnlaget om autismespekterforstyrrelser i Norge ser likevel ut til å være begrenset, og ikke alle som har behov for kommunale habiliteringstjenester får den hjelpen de trenger eller har rett på. Sosionomer ser ut til å arbeide i tverrfaglige kommunale team, også i rollen som koordinatorer, men er kompetansegrunnlaget i sosialt arbeid tilstrekkelig for å kunne imøtekomme og identifisere ønskene, behovene og preferansene til disse menneskene? Politiske og juridiske ambisjoner om at kommunale habiliteringstjenester skal yte omsorg for hele mennesket og tilrettelegge habiliteringen ut ifra tjenestemottakernes egne livssituasjoner og mål, må likevel kunne realiseres gjennom de enkelte profesjonsutøvernes profesjonelle møter med tjenestemottakerne. I denne litteraturstudien stilles det spørsmålstegn ved om sosionomers relasjonsferdigheter er tilstrekkelig for å kunne tilrettelegge og utforme tiltak ut ifra tjenestemottakernes egne perspektiver. Dette gjøres ved å forsøke å knytte menneskesynet og relasjonsferdighetene i sosialt arbeid opp mot hva forskningslitteraturen sier hvilke utfordringer mennesker med autismespekterforstyrrelser kan ha. Habilitering for voksne mennesker med en autismespekterforstyrrelse kan se ut til å være svært utfordrende arbeid, som kan være både tid og ressurskrevende, hvilket understreker viktigheten av å belyse betydningen av å utvikle kompetansegrunnlaget både i kommunene og på det sosialfaglige feltet, dersom sosionomer skal kunne anvendes på habiliteringsfeltet i fremtiden i møte med denne målgruppen.

Abstract The number of people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders is increasing in society. The level of competence about autism spectrum disorders in Norway seems to be limited regardless, and not everyone who needs help are receiving the help they need or are entitled to receive. Social workers seem to be working in multidisciplinary local teams, even with the responsibility as a coordinator, but is the level of competence in social work practice adequate to be able to comply with and identify the wishes, needs and preferences of these people? Political and juridical ambitions about the responsibility of the multidisciplinary local teams to contribute care for the whole human beings lifesituation, and organise habilitation services with regards to the user of habilitation services own life situation and goals, still have to be fulfilled in the professional meetings between the straff and the user of public services. In this literaturestudy the question is asked whether the social workers capabilities with human relations, is satisfactory for being able to organise and create interventions with regards to the users of public services own perspectives. This is done by an attempt to connect the view of human nature and human relations qualifications in social work practice with the researchliteratures views on what the difficulties of people with autism spectrum disorders seems to be. The fact that habilitation services for grown-ups with an autism spectrum disorder seems to be quite challenging work, in which can be both time and resource consuming, emphasising the importance of referring to the development of further research both in the local habilitation services and in social work practice, if social workers are to have a future with habilitation work in the future.
